Eat well, worry less!

We all know that during the days of our period, we experience symptoms such as bloating, moodiness, fatigue, lack of mood, headaches. A woman's energy needs before her period are increased by 250-300 calories/day and, together with other fluctuations, ultimately lead to an increase in the feeling of hunger.

The result is also familiar to all of us. We eat something sweet, then something salty, then something sweet again and just like that, within a few hours, we have lost control and have consumed much more than we need. A woman who does not eat properly may feel constantly tired, have difficulty concentrating, inexplicable anger, a strong desire for sugar, and emotional burden. This results in binge eating episodes, eating disorders and guilt.

The Flower team suggests some ways to avoid eating disorders that may affect you before and during your period in order to feel good during the difficult days of the month. The key to success is to base your relationship with food on real nutritional needs and not on emotional ones.

Eat right!

Avoid fatty foods, soft drinks, fried foods and junk foods to avoid fluid retention problems. Opt for foods rich in lean proteins and fiber, as this will minimize cravings, while including foods with iron in your diet will help your body replenish it!

Eat when you are truly hungry!

Before you "go" to the fridge, ask yourself if you're hungry or just eating out of habit. Go for a walk, take a relaxing bath, occupy your mind with something else. Also very helpful is a hot ginger drink that will relieve you from the pain and stimulate you.

Relax and love your body!

Our body responds every time we take care of it! Accept your difference, your uniqueness, that something that makes you stand out and be filled with self-confidence. Give yourself everything you deserve: rest, care, pampering. Think positively about what is happening to you and your body and start enjoying yourself more!
