How does our cycle affect our mood?

How does our cycle affect our mood?

Do you feel like some days you wake up full of energy, appetite, ready to conquer the world, and others you spend them without motivation, with low self-confidence and mood?

There are several reasons why women experience these fluctuations throughout the month, most often related to the menstrual cycle.

Our cycle is not just the days of our period. In fact, it is much more than that and affects us every day of the month! Our hormones change from week to week creating 4 phases in our cycle: menstruation, follicular phase, ovulation and luteal phase.

Each phase brings changes to our body, mind, and emotions, affecting energy levels, mood, libido, creativity, our ability to communicate, our appetite for food, and our motivation for life... No day is the same as the next!

But as women, we often set difficult goals, have very high demands on ourselves and want to perform the same way every day, at work, in the gym, as mothers or partners. Also, every time we don't have enough energy, we blame ourselves for it and feel remorse... Does this remind you of something?

We can't live by pushing ourselves to the limit every day and expect to be healthy all the time...

There are times when our lifestyle does not keep up with the natural changes in the female menstrual cycle and the pressure we continue to exert is one of the most important causes behind hormonal imbalances that cause heavy or irregular periods, PMS (premenstrual syndrome) and intense pain.

You may often wonder, "Why is it that so many women suffer from period problems?" Because women have not been properly and adequately educated about their menstrual cycle, hormones, and how to support their bodies during each phase.

By learning more about the 4 phases of the cycle and the ways we can support ourselves through our daily lives, choices, and nutrition, we can synchronize our lifestyle with our cycle. This change will improve productivity, confidence, mood, energy, period health, and our entire life!

The time has come to connect with our circle and use its power in our favor, instead of fighting it.

Phase 1: Period

Productivity : Your period is an invitation from your body to release all expectations around you. Press pause and create time to rest and reboot.

Nutrition : For these more demanding days, choose warm, iron-rich foods, such as soups, broths, and slow-cooked meals. Cut down on coffee, as it can worsen the pain, and try a delicious Turmeric Latte instead.

Exercise : Prefer gentle exercise such as yoga, walking, stretching, pilates. But if you prefer to rest, do it!

Flower Organic Extra Long sanitary napkins will offer you the comfort and absorbency you need during the first days of your period.

Phase 2 : Follicular phase

Productivity : As estrogen levels rise, so do energy levels! This is the phase to start working on your "To Do List", embrace productivity and plan wisely for the month ahead!

Nutrition : Support estrogen metabolism and blood sugar levels by eating more green salads, vegetables like broccoli and kale, and adding seeds to your meals. An imbalance in sugar levels can alter the healthy path to ovulation, so avoid processed foods and alcohol.

Exercise : This is the best phase for intense exercise and weights!

Phase 3: Ovulation

Productivity : This is the phase of the cycle when energy, confidence, good mood, libido are at their highest (as long as hormones are balanced). Start new projects, go out, be bold, socialize, flirt, chase your dreams and finish whatever you start!

Nutrition : Eat light meals such as salads, fruits, vegetables, smoothies. Opt for foods rich in Vitamin B and zinc, nuts and seeds.

Exercise : Do exercise that will make you sweat. Dance, run, do Power Yoga, do aerobics, and bike.

Phase 4: Luteal phase

Productivity : This is the last phase of your cycle, before your next period starts. It is very likely that as the days go by you will experience changes in your mood, more stress or period pains… Start relaxing, complete projects, dedicate more time to self-care and listen to your body. Do more of what you want and it will thank you!

Nutrition : Increase your intake of healthy fats such as avocado, salmon, olive oil, seeds. Increase the balance of magnesium in the body by choosing foods such as spinach, raw cacao, bananas and use a magnesium spray, spraying the abdomen. Avoid coffee and prefer herbal tea .

Exercise : Choose exercise that activates and relaxes the body, such as swimming, walking, or pilates.
