Summer and your period. Some tips that will make you feel better

The heat combined with cramps and increased menstrual flow can make it difficult for you in the summer. Below are some tips that will help you.

The high temperatures, humidity, pain, and feeling of fatigue that we often feel during our period often make it difficult for us during the summer months.

There are, however, some tips that can make the situation a little more manageable.

1. We say "no" to heavy meals and salt

Large amounts of food increase the "bloating" that your period causes anyway, and salty foods help with fluid retention. Small, light meals, fruits, and vegetables will limit this phenomenon, while removing that unpleasant feeling of drowsiness and fatigue that, combined with high temperatures, lowers your body's defenses. It would also be a good idea to avoid fried foods and soft drinks on those days.

2. Shower frequently

The more showers, the better. It's the healthiest way to keep your body temperature—which rises during ovulation and menstruation anyway—at normal levels. Plus, the cool water refreshes your senses.

3. Hydration

Adequate hydration is essential for the proper functioning and oxygenation of all body tissues. On nights out, it is better to drink a glass of water than to order another drink. Alcohol combined with the summer heat tends to cause dehydration in our bodies.

3. Mild-intensity exercise

You can avoid the gym, but you can opt for a brisk walk, do Iyegar yoga , or even a swim in the sea! Exercise will restore normal blood circulation in your body and make you feel better.

4. It's best to avoid waxing on those days.

The feeling of pain in any part of the female body is much more intense during the days of menstruation. The estrogen that floods the female body during those days makes us absolutely sensitive to every touch.

5. We say yes to the midday siesta

If you have the opportunity to sleep for 20-30 minutes, do it! Half an hour is enough to regain your strength and continue your day.

7. Sex of course helps

For many women, sex during their period is taboo, something they simply can't enjoy because of the flow and all that comes with it. However, many studies have shown that orgasms can relieve the pain and cramps that come with periods.
